Challenge
The customer operated a disconnector with an earthing switch in the vicinity of a transformer, where:
- the equipment performed approximately 500 switching operations per month,
- the ambient temperature long-term reached up to 70 °C,
- the environment was moderately dusty.
Original Solution
The original solution no longer met the requirements in terms of mechanical robustness and service life. The customer therefore sought a robust device that would be:
- installed inside the MV switchgear,
- capable of frequent operation without increased maintenance demands,
- safe for operators during both remote and local control.
IVEP Solution
IVEP designed an indoor MV switchgear MVSI-D with a disconnector and earthing switch:
- rated for a high number of mechanical operations,
- designed for continuous operation at elevated temperatures,
- with a structure optimized for frequent switching without degradation of mechanical components,
- allowing clear and safe operation from the operator control position.
The switchgear provides protection of the switching devices against the surrounding environment while also increasing operational safety compared to a standalone installation.
