Challenge
The customer operates a testing laboratory for medium-voltage asynchronous motors, which are supplied without their own cable terminations. For repeated testing of various machines, a universal and safe solution was required for:
- quick connection of power cables,
- handling in a laboratory environment,
- easy operation without the need for complex procedures.
Emphasis was placed on:
- operator safety,
- minimum possible equipment dimensions,
- simple design without measuring or protective devices,
- the ability to handle the equipment using a crane,
- a freestanding design with an open bottom section for cable entries.
IVEP Solution
IVEP designed and delivered a pair of standalone terminal boxes MTB and NTB, which:
- serve as universal “cable termination boxes” for medium-voltage motors of various types,
- enable clear and safe connection of power cables,
- feature an open bottom section for flexible cable routing,
- are designed for handling by crane during relocation within the hall,
- have compact dimensions optimized for laboratory operation.
The equipment was finished in a red color design to ensure clear visual identification within the testing area.
