Challenge

Within a railway infrastructure project in the Russian Federation, the customer requested the supply of six outdoor transition cable cabinets intended to serve as the power supply points for a stacking machine. The cabinets were designed not only for the transmission of medium-voltage power, but also for the combined routing of power and fiber-optic cables.

The project was particularly specific due to the combination of climatic, environmental, and certification requirements.

Delivered Solution

IVEP designed and delivered an outdoor 12 kV medium-voltage cable connection cabinet, adapted for the combined transmission of power and data under the demanding operating conditions of railway infrastructure.

The cabinet design allows for separate routing of power and fiber-optic sections, ensuring clear installation and protection of sensitive data paths. The cabinet is intended for outdoor operation, taking into account low temperatures, humidity, and increased corrosion loads typical of coastal areas.

Certification and Design

The scope of supply included compliance with EAC certification requirements necessary for operation within the territory of the Russian Federation. The cabinets were delivered in a red color design, meeting customer requirements and ensuring good visibility in the railway environment.
