Challenge
In a petrochemical industry facility in the Czech Republic, there arose a need to simplify and clarify the disconnection of incoming cables within the medium-voltage distribution system. The existing solution was not optimal from a maintenance perspective, and interventions in the cabling were time-consuming and operationally complex.
The customer required a solution that would enable fast, safe, and unambiguous separation of cable routes, with an emphasis on operator safety and access control.
Our Solution
IVEP supplied a PPE-type connection cabinet, designed as a clear and safe point for the interconnection and disconnection of cable routes. The cabinet serves as an intermediate interface between incoming and outgoing feeders, significantly simplifying maintenance interventions without the need for complex handling directly within the technology.
The equipment is lockable by means of a padlock, providing protection against unauthorized access and increasing operational safety.

Cable Connections
The cabinet was designed with a clearly defined direction of incoming and outgoing feeders:
- Incoming: from below, 3 × three-core cable 240 mm²
- Outgoing: from above, 3 × (3 × single-core cable) 240 mm²
This arrangement ensures a clear layout, minimizes cable crossings, and facilitates handling during installation and subsequent maintenance.

IVEP Value
This project demonstrates that IVEP addresses not only power and short-circuit parameters, but also the practical needs of operation and maintenance. Even a seemingly simple element such as a connection cabinet can significantly increase safety, clarity, and work efficiency in a demanding industrial environment.
